What is onesuffolk?
The onesuffolk project has been providing free websites to local
councils and community groups in Suffolk since 2005.
The project was set up with a grant from central government, but
since 2006 it has been supported financially by the county and
district councils in Suffolk and Suffolk Police.
onesuffolk community websites
onesuffolk hosts over 300 community websites, enabling
parishes, towns and villages, and
community and voluntary organisations to
publish information about their particular area on their own
free websites.
The content management software onesuffolk uses to provide free
websites has been updated and now allows websites to be set up very
easily and gives you a lot more control over your content.
Once you've signed up for your site it will be created
automatically and you'll be able to pick from a gallery of page
designs with different layouts including:
- Photo gallery.
- Blog.
- News.
- Classified ads (maybe a charge for this facility).
- RSS reader - reads news feeds straight onto your webpage from
sources like the BBC or daily newspapers.
- Contact or feedback forms that you can create
yourself.
New onesuffolk sites will also benefit from Google search and
analytics and 'proper' web addresses without any reference to
onesuffolk in them.
