Unhealthy lifestyle behaviours such as smoking, a poor diet and
a lack of exercise, cause a wide range of health problems that can
lead to years of discomfort and unhappiness. NHS Suffolk has
commissioned Live Well Suffolk to provide a range of programmes,
initiatives and campaigns that will help you take small steps to
living a healthier life.
On this page you will find links to the information you need
about the free support that is on offer if you would like to make a
change to your current lifestyle, no matter how big or small.
Stop smoking advice and support
Smoking is a powerful addiction and many smokers try to quit but
find the withdrawal symptoms too difficult to cope with. However,
all the research says that smokers are four times more likely to
stop smoking with help and encouragement from outside.
Live Well Suffolk provides intensive one to one and group
support to smokers undertaking the quitting process, seeing
patients on a weekly basis. The team is made up of friendly
advisors who aren’t here to bully or judge you, but just offer help
and advice.

a 12 week course which is gender specific reflecting the differing
needs and preferences of men and women.

activity to facilitate weight loss. Fit Fans runs from Felixstowe,

are eating healthily and doing enough exercise to stay a healthy
weight. So if you think you need some help with getting your child
active, or want some advice on the healthiest food to feed your
family, ‘Alive ’n’ Kicking’ could be for you.
The 12-week programme is for children aged 2-18 and focuses on
encouraging young people and their families to take part in some
active fun and games whilst learning about healthy eating.
