A Senior Railcard allows the holder
a one third reduction on most rail fares and can be used
anywhere in the country. The cost of a Senior Railcard from
Suffolk Coastal under our concessionary travel scheme is
£19.50. The cost of a Senior Railcard direct from National
Rail is £26.
Am I eligible for a Senior Railcard?
To be eligible for a Senior Railcard from Suffolk Coastal you
must reside permanently in the Suffolk Coastal district and be aged
60 or over.
For further information about using the Senior Railcard and the
terms and conditions that apply please go to the
Senior Railcard website (new window).
Please note that if you apply for a Senior Railcard you will not
be eligible for a
national bus pass as well because the
Council's scheme only allows eligible people to have one
concession at a time.
How do I apply?
To apply you have to complete the Council's application form and
a second one required by National Rail. You will also have to
provide us with proof of your age - your driving licence,
passport or birth certificate for example (photocopies are
acceptable). You can print off both application forms by selecting
the links below:

Alternatively, we will send you the forms if you contact us
on 01394 444647 or email

with your name and address.
You must complete and sign both forms and send them with a
cheque or postal order for £19.50 made payable to Suffolk
Coastal District Council and proof of your age (photocopy
acceptable) to the address below. We do not accept
cash payments.
