A Senior Railcard allows the holder
a one third reduction on most rail fares and can be used
anywhere in the country. The cost of a Senior Railcard from
Suffolk Coastal, under its concessionary travel
scheme, is £18 which is £6 below the official
price charged by National Rail.
Am I eligible for a Senior Railcard?
To be eligible for a Senior Railcard from Suffolk Coastal you
must reside permanently in the Suffolk Coastal district and be aged
60 or over.
Please note that if you apply for a Senior Railcard you will not
be eligible for a
national bus pass as well because the
Council's scheme only allows eligible people to have one
concession at a time.
How do I apply?
To apply you have to complete the Council's application form and
a second one required by National Rail. You will also have to
provide us with proof of your age - your driving licence,
passport, birth certificate or pension book for example. You can
print off both application forms by selecting the links below:
Follow this link for help with downloading and opening PDF
files.
You must complete and sign both forms and send them with a
cheque or postal order for £18 made payable to Suffolk Coastal
District Council and proof of your age to the address below.
Please do not send cash.
Alternatively, we will send you the forms if you contact our
Customer Services team on 01394 444647 or email
