Bored youngsters in the Suffolk Coastal area can net themselves
a real treat this month by reeling in a great fishing offer from
the Council and the Environment Agency.
Every weekday this month until Friday, August 29, any youngster
aged eight or over can go fishing at the Manor Farm Fishery in
Swilland for a discounted price of £12.50 per session for someone
with a Coastal Card or £15 to those without one.
“This is a great chance for young people to either get hooked on
a new pastime or improve their fishing know-how by learning some
extra skills from qualified coaches,” said Cllr Mary Neale, Cabinet
Member for Leisure and Countryside.
“We hope that these sessions will turn out to be fun and help
give the young people something to do during the long summer break.
They can meet some new friends and hopefully catch some fish, which
has to be much better than hanging around, getting bored with
nothing to do,” added Cllr Neale.
Anyone aged 12 or over, must have a fishing licence which can be
got from any post office. The sessions run from 9am to 12 Noon, and
1pm to 4pm.
The fishing sessions are just one of a month’s worth of summer
fun on offer from Suffolk Coastal. For full details pick up a copy
