Thanks to the efforts of those working at Suffolk Coastal’s Melton Hill offices, a bumper cheque of £1,500 is set to be made out Cancer Research UK after the latest annual charity fundraising day.

A whole range of money-earning activities were put on by Suffolk Coastal’s Sports and Social Club earlier this month and it has helped bring their total donations to charity to a staggering £28,000 since 1994.

“This was another tremendous team effort from the many people who gave up their own time to put in place all the fund-raising activities that succeeded in gaining £1,500 of donations. Given that we have less than 300 people working at our Melton Hill offices, this was some achievement and once again shows what a great bunch of people we have serving our communities,” said Cllr Robert Whiting, Cabinet Member for Resources.

Among the activities were raffles, a Wii bowling competition, target golf, an auction of promises, a dance mat contest, and a very well-received cake stall. Planning is now already underway to make next year’s charity day an even bigger success.
