At the closure of nominations, 11 candidates had come forward
for the three by-elections that will be held on Thursday, September
18 to fill the vacant seats on Suffolk Coastal District Council,
Woodbridge Town Council and Suffolk County Council.
The polling stations will be open on that day between 7am and 10pm
and the full list of candidates is as follows:-

The seats became vacant on June 30 after the Independent
councillor Ben Redsell submitted his resignation to all three
councils.
Whoever is elected to take on the Woodbridge Riverside District
Ward is due to be on the District Council until May 2011, which is
the same period for the Woodbridge Riverside Parish seat. The
Woodbridge County Division seat is next due to be contested in May
2009.
The closing date for anyone wanting to apply for a postal vote, or
to change existing proxy or postal vote arrangements, is 5pm on
Wednesday, September 3.
