Suffolk Coastal Business Forum

Suffolk Coastal Business Forum 'To protect, represent and support the interests of the Suffolk Coastal business community.'

The Suffolk Coastal Business Forum was founded in 1991 enabling the Council to consult with representatives of the business community about its yearly spending plans. It has a genuine influence on Council policy.

The Forum aims to be representative of all businesses working in the district, and meets regularly with senior Council representatives to discuss and give feedback on Council plans.

The Forum also has two seats on the board of the Suffolk Coastal Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) (new window).

Suffolk Coastal business needs research report

The business needs report, published in May 2010, was commissioned by the Suffolk Coastal Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) and produced by Nick Boulter, chairman of the LSP's economy and skills working group and chairman of the Suffolk Coastal Business Forum.

Interviews conducted between November 2009 and mid February 2010, with 100 local businesses in the Suffolk Coastal area, concluded that most are confident about the future but would be happier if issues regarding the internet and the skills of potential employees were addressed.
