Notification of work with asbestos

Companies licensed by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to work with asbestos are required to notify licensable work to the correct authority prior to commencement of the work.

Suffolk Coastal is responsible for receiving notifications where the work is to take place in premises such as shops, offices, restaurants and premises where entertainment or leisure is the main activity.

Notifications must be received at least 14 days before the work starts and should be made on the HSE’s standard ASB5 form.

Notification forms together with a copy of the licence to work with asbestos should be sent to the Food and Safety Team using one of the following methods:
