Suffolk County Council election results

Suffolk County Council has full elections every four years - their last full elections were held on 4 June 2009. By-elections are held to fill vacant seats as and when they occur.

The 11 county council divisions in the district are Aldeburgh and Leiston, Blything, Carlford, Felixstowe Coastal (2 seats), Felixstowe North and Trimley, Framlingham, Kesgrave and Rushmere St Andrew (2 seats), Martlesham, Wickham, Wilford, and Woodbridge.

Suffolk County Council by-election - 6 May 2010

An election for a county councillor for the Aldeburgh and Leiston division was held on the same day as the General Election on Thursday, 6 May 2010.

The result of the election is as follows:

  • Joan Girling - Independent 1,439
  • Terry Hodgson - Labour 1,243
  • Richard Smith - Conservative 2,240 (elected)
