Application for dispensation in respect of a prejudicial interest

SpeakerListen to the text on this page

A town or parish councillor who has a prejudicial interest in a matter which is under consideration by the council may not participate unless he or she has first obtained a dispensation from the Standards Committee.

You can apply for a dispensation by downloading and completing the form below and sending it to the Monitoring Officer. Please remember that dispensations have to be dealt with at a properly constituted meeting of the Standards Committee. Therefore you should allow sufficient time for that meeting to be called and proper notice given. Your application should be sent to the Monitoring Officer no less than 14 days before the date when the matter is to be considered.
