Parish Tree Scheme - species available

SpeakerListen to the text on this page

Most species supplied under the Parish Tree Scheme will be native to Britain and occurring within the district. This is to ensure that the natural quality of the landscape and biodiversity of the parish is maintained and enhanced.

Regions

The district has three main regions which will affect the selection of species, within them there will always be local variation to take into account:

C Clay land, usually heavy, generally west of the A12 road.
H Heathland, dry, poor, sandy soil, early planting gives best results, generally east of A12.
S Salt sprayed coastal areas, very exposed and windy.
