The final report of Alde and Ore
Futures project was presented on 17 May 2012 at Orford Town
Hall at an event which marked the closure of the project and the
launch of the new Alde and Ore Estuary Partnership (AOEP).
To celebrate this launch, Richard Benyon MP, Parliamentary
Under-Secretary for the Natural Environment gave his support with a
video message, while Nigel Gooding, Deputy Director for Marine and
Biodiversity at Defra attended to give a key note speech.
These two speeches were the hightlight of the day which as
well as the launch of the AOEP also included:
- AGM of Alde and Ore Association
- Final report of the Alde and Ore Futures project
- Final AGM of Estuary Planning Partnership
The agenda and papers for this meeting are

The Alde and Ore Estuary Partnership
The overall purpose of AOEP is to ‘ensure the development and
maintenance of a safe, secure, productive and pleasant
estuary’.
Essentially, the new AOEP exists to oversee a strategy for the
estuary as a whole and to prepare a plan including a rolling
programme of works for the furtherance of the strategy.
This exciting new development has evolved from the joint working
of the community leaders, local councils and agencies
initiated by the work of the Alde and Ore Futures project.
