Essex and South Suffolk Shoreline Management Plan

The Essex and South Suffolk Shoreline Management Plan (SMP) covers approximately 440km of coast from Landguard Point in Felixstowe to Two Tree Island in the Thames Estuary. It will determine the best ways to look after this part of the coast in a sustainable way for the next 100 years.

Consultation on the draft plan was carried out by the Environment Agency, in partnership with the organisations and councils covered by the plan, between 15 March and 28 June 2010.

Althought the consultation period has now closed you can still view the draft consultation documents (new window) on the Environment Agency website.
