On Friday 12 September 2008,
detailed proposals for the redevelopment of Adastral Park and
the adjacent area were delivered to Suffolk Coastal's offices
by the agents working on behalf of BT.
The outline planning application includes the creation of an
Innovation Park with linked university provision, new community
facilities, significant changes to the local road network, and a
major housing development of 2,000 houses.
The applicants, BT, have created an
Adastral vision website (new window) which
gives information about their vision for the development and
regeneration of Adastral Park.
You can read the Council's initial response to
the application proposals in the
press release
issued on 12 September 2008.
Exhibition of proposals
We will be holding an exhibition of the application proposals at
Martlesham Parish Rooms, Felixstowe Road, Martlesham IP12 4PB
(behind Tesco) on:
Tuesday 16 December - 11.00am to 9.00pm.
Wednesday 17 December - 9.30am to 12.30pm.
If you would like to view the proposals or speak to a planning
officer about them, please come along to the exhibition.
This is the start of what will be a lengthy process as this is a
major application which requires a great deal of consideration
before it will be formally considered by the Council.
The application is a departure from the
Development Plan and and is accompanied by an
Environmental Impact Assessment. It will be considered by the
Council's Development Control Committee -
if the committee is minded to approve the application it will need
to be referred to the Secretary of State responsible for
planning.
