Development Control Sub-Committees

SpeakerListen to the text on this page

The Council's Development Control Committee has two sub-committees, covering the north and south areas of the district, which consider planning applications. Follow the links below for details of their forthcoming and past meetings:

The sub-committees meet every four weeks in the Council Chamber at the Council's offices in Woodbridge. Follow the links to see a calendar of Council meetings and find out who sits on the committees.

About 15% of the 2,500 applications received by the Council are determined by committee. The rest are determined by the Head of Planning Services under delegated powers set out in the Scheme of Delegation (new window PDF 54KB).

Major or controversial applications which will have a significant and widespread impact are normally reported to committee if there are representations contrary to the officers’ recommendation.

If you wish to object to, or support an application, you may speak at the meeting considering the application. To find out more please read our leaflet Having your say on planning applications (new window PDF 43KB) which describes the procedure in detail.
