The 2013 Review of Parliamentary constituency boundaries will
reduce the number of constituencies in England from 533 to 502.
The review follows Parliament’s decision to reduce the number of
constituencies across the UK, and ensure there are similar numbers
of electors in each constituency.
The Boundary Commission for England consulted on its initial
proposals for new boundaries between 13 September and 5 December
2011.
All the comments received by the closing date were published on
the Boundary Commission's website in March 2012 and you had until 3
April 2012 to send them any comments about them.
In Suffolk, no changes are proposed to the five constituencies
of Central Suffolk and North Ipswich, Ipswich, South Suffolk,
Suffolk Coastal, and Waveney.
All representations received from both consultations will be
considered by the Commission with a view to publishing a set of
revised proposals later in the year.
Full
details of the proposals (new window) are
available on the Boundary Commission's
website.
