Suffolk Coastal is required by the Public Health Act 1936 to
investigate complaints about premises which are in such a filthy
condition they could be a health hazard or verminous.
If, after inspection, the premises are considered filthy or
verminous we will serve a notice, in accordance with
our enforcement policy, on the owner or occupier
of the premises requiring steps to be taken to remedy the problem.
We also have powers that enable us to carry out the work in default
and recover the costs from the owner or occupier.
If you have a complaint or would like some advice you can
contact our Environmental Protection Team on 01394
444624 or email
environmental.protection@suffolkcoastal.gov.uk
You can also
use
the online report a problem facility (new
window) on the onesuffolk website to report filthy or
verminous premises in the Suffolk Coastal district and other
council areas in Suffolk.
