Wolsey Gardens landscape scheme

An early phase of the Felixstowe improvement scheme changed the road priorities at the top of Convalescent Hill and included the building a mini roundabout at the bottom of Convalescent Hill and layout amendments to the car park. In addition, the steps from Convalescent Hill to Wolsey Gardens have been repaired and reopened.

Officers from Suffolk Coastal worked with the County highway engineers to produce a landscape design for the car park boundary and new build out space on Wolsey Gardens.

In addition to shrubs and perennials, a number of replacement and new trees have been planted including sycamore and pine which are traditional sea front trees for Felixstowe. Cordylines and yuccas have been used to frame views of the sea and provide focal points.

The planting scheme was designed by Suffolk Coastal's landscape architect, Anne Westover and carried out by Kevin Postma and team at Suffolk Coastal Services.
