Sponsoring a project
There are lots of opportunities for local businesses to sponsor
specific Footprints projects. Here are just a few ways your company
can get involved:
The Parish Tree Scheme - over the last 30
years, many thousands of trees and several miles of hedgerow have
been planted throughout the district through this scheme. Annual
sponsorship costs just £5,000 - a perfect opportunity for any
business wishing to help offset its carbon footprint.
Sponsoring a sheep - or even a small flock, is
a novel way to increase your company’s green credentials. You’ll be
helping with the conservation of our heathland, and just £100
covers the cost of raising one ewe for one year.
Melton Riverside 'Access for All' project - help to make
this the most unique countryside facility in the UK for people with
disabilities. Specialist toilet facilities and high quality
surfaced paths are all needed to make this a truly accessible
place.
Why not sponsor a length of accessible path, a viewing platform
or sensory sculpture?
This is a great opportunity for businesses to be part of a
remarkable project that will gain national recognition. To find out
more about the project take a look at our
Melton Riverside improvement plan (new

Habitat restoration - heathland, ponds,
woodland and wild flower meadows are some of the most important
habitats in the district. Their restoration and continued
management are vital. £250 can buy a day’s coppicing in woodland, a
day of scrub clearance on a heath or see a JCB restore an
average-sized pond.
Business benefits
Footprints is a two-way street - there is much we can offer your
company in return for your support - here are just some of the
benefits:
Increased investment - companies who emphasise
their environmental and social performance increase their
attractiveness to investors (Business in the Environment 2001).
Increased customer support - many clients
favour environmentally responsible companies, and several consumer
studies support this.
Great publicity - a partnership with
Footprints provides companies with a number of great PR and
marketing opportunities:
- Promotion of the project and your contribution on the Suffolk
Coastal website.
- On-site recognition - a plaque with your company logo.
- Local press and TV coverage.
- Networking - connect with a growing body of companies dedicated
to sustainable practice.
