Volunteering your time and skills to Footprints

Footprints logo Volunteering your time and skills to the Footprints campaign is a terrific way of making an impression on our local countryside.

We already support several community conservation groups that carry out work on our natural green spaces. And many parishes have Tree Wardens who are involved in caring for their local environment and planting trees and hedges.

If you or a group of people would like to become involved in practical conservation tasks why not join one of the Footprints work parties or we can put you in touch with local groups or even arrange special volunteer days.

Volunteer days are ideal team building events. It’s a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to develop staff and find out more about the local environment during an active and healthy day out. If you are interested in arranging a special volunteer day please contact the countryside and outdoor space team on 01394 444619 or email peter.ross@suffolkcoastal.gov.uk.

Footprints work parties

There are many practical management tasks that need to be carried out - cutting back scrub on heathland, clearing a pond, coppicing woodland or making a muddy path more accessible.

Keen volunteers are welcome to get involved and come along to any of the events taking place but please let Countryside Ranger Lynda Gilbert know if you want to attend by calling 07767 737272.

To find out more about what is involved please read our volunteer information pack (new window PDF 100KB).
