Greenprint Forum meetings held in 2009

26 October 2009 - The meeting shared some insights from the BT story on Corporate Social Responsibility and focussed on how businesses can go greener, cut their energy bills and improve the local environment.

24 & 25 October 2009 - 22 people attended a weekend Transition training session at Suffolk Coastal's offices led by members of the Transition Network.

26 September 2009 - Dr Manooch Azmoodeh organised a screening of the film A Delicate Balance on behalf of the Greenprint Forum. This film explores some of the health issues that have been linked to the diets we chose. He also briefly spoke about the implications of a meat/dairy intensive diet on the climate, land use, biodiversity, ability to feed future generations, water resources and in terms of pollution. Feedback from the 15 who attended was postive.

22 September 2009 - visit to see energy saving measures at Wenhaston Village Hall.

20 September 2009 - Beachwatch, Bawdsey Quay.

11 August 2009 - site visit to Foxhall for an update on the district's composting.

27 July 2009 - The meeting included presentations on the Burgh School Room project, Local Climate Impacts Profile, the Suffolk Coast Integrated Coastal Zone Management Initiative and discussion about the draft Suffolk Climate Change Strategy.

27 April 2009 - The meeting included presentations about C-Change Coastal, Greener Fram (a community group raising local awareness of green issues such as global warming), Transition Woodbridge (responding to the challenges, and opportunities, of peak oil and climate change), and the plastic bag free Woodbridge initiative.

26 January 2009 - The meeting included items on a research project into fuel poverty and carbon emissions, the C-change Coastal project being set to help communities reduce their carbon footprints, recycling in Suffolk Coastal and feedback on the hedgerow project. There was also discussion around the Greenprint objectives and the next steps for the forum.
