Licensing Act 2003 - applying to vary a designated premises supervisor

The designated premises supervisor (DPS) is responsible for authorising the sale or supply of alcohol at a premises. That individual must hold a personal licence and only one DPS may be named on a premises licence at any one time.

If the responsibility of being DPS needs to be given to another individual for any reason (if the current DPS moves away from the premises, for example) an application to vary the DPS will be required.

A variation can only be made by the holder of the premises licence or solicitors acting on their behalf.  The consent of the person who is to become the new DPS must also be given.
