In March 2006 the Council adopted an alteration to its Local
Plan that requires housing developers to build more affordable
homes to help meet the growing need for affordable housing in the
district.

In November 2007, the Felixstowe & Trimleys Peninsula Future
Steering Group, in conjunction with David Lock Associates,
completed a significant stage in the development of an overall
regeneration master plan for Felixstowe.
