Historic parks and gardens

SpeakerListen to the text on this page

The Suffolk Coastal district has many historically important private and public parks and gardens, some with large houses. Some of these areas are situated within conservation areas, some have listed buildings and some are included on the English Heritage Register of Parks and Gardens of special historical interest in England.

The 21 parks and gardens listed below have been recorded in Supplementary Planning Guidance - Historic parks and gardens (SPG 6). The purpose of the document is to highlight their importance and special qualities.

Special planning considerations apply to these parks and gardens and advice is available from the Council. It is also recognised that there are many other parks and gardens which have special historic qualities.

For further information and advice contact the Landscape Officer on 01394 444420 or email communityandeconomic@suffolkcoastal.gov.uk
