Renaming an existing property or adding a name to a numbered property

There is a charge of £32 per property for renaming and name addition requests - details of how to pay can be found further down this page.

Naming and numbering enquiries 

For any enquiries relating to addresses within Suffolk Coastal - such as addressing confirmation, problems with addresses - you should contact the Knowledge & Information team on 01394 444261 or email llpg@suffolkcoastal.gov.uk giving full details of your query and a contact telephone number or email address. There is a £64 charge per enquiry - details of how to pay can be found further down this page.

Renumbering of existing schemes 

If you are a developer and due to a change in the layout of your development site, a superseded numbering scheme needs to be issued after the approved naming and numbering scheme has been formally issued, there is a charge of £64 for each plot or property that requires re-addressing. Details of how to pay can be found further down this page.

Additional and relocation of street nameplates 

For any enquiries relating to requests for additional signage or the relocation of existing signage you should contact the Knowledge & Information team on 01394 444261 or email llpg@suffolkcoastal.gov.uk giving full details of your query and a contact telephone number or email address. There is a charge of £380 for a set of two nameplates and £127 for relocating a nameplate, but please contact us for full details.

Our charges will be increasing later this year - new charges shown in bold below.

Charges are inclusive of VAT.

• Property renaming/addition of house name - £32 per property (due to increase to £34)
• Naming and numbering enquiries (new or historic addresses) - £64 per enquiry (due to increase to £69)
• Re-numbering of scheme following development replan after notification of approved naming and numbering scheme issued - £64 per plot/property (due to increase to £69)
• Set of two street nameplates supplied and installed - £380 (due to increase to £401)
• Re-locating street nameplate - £127 (due to increase to £134)
• Provision of name and numbering information to utilities - £335

For telephone payments by debit or credit card please call 01394 444261 during office hours.

If you have submitted your request using our online form please quote the form reference number when making your payment. Please allow time for your online request to be received and processed before calling to pay by credit or debit card.

Please note an additional fee of 2.0% of the transaction value is payable on all payments made by credit card.
