Where to eat in Suffolk Coastal

SpeakerListen to the text on this page

Eating out in Suffolk Coastal front coverSuffolk Coastal has a large variety of restaurants and pubs that serve food ranging from Michelin rated to local farm produce.

The typical village has a pub with character, many providing excellent food in convivial surroundings. There are top class restaurants and cafes serving local produce, local meat and really fresh fish. Local smokehouses provide smoked fish and a range of smoked meats and local vineyards provide wine tasting events and tours.

Families are catered for too with many cafes and restaurants that are happy to provide child sized portions. Many of the premises have wonderful views, which contribute to the feeling of relaxation and contentment.

This latest edition of the guide has been expanded to include local food producers, farm shops and markets. We hope this will make the guide even more useful to visitors and residents and emphasise our commitment to keeping ‘food miles’ to a minimum as well as supporting the local economy in the district.

Many of the district's small independent food businesses appear in the UKTV Local Food Hero directory (new window), which includes the nominations of the best places to buy and eat quality, locally produced food across the UK.

Markets selling locally produced food and a wide range of other goods take place around the district, or within easy reach of it, on a regular basis. Follow this link for details of weekly and monthly markets.
