The 2008 Suffolk Youth Games were
held at Northgate Sports Centre in Ipswich on 6 July.
Young people in school years 5 to 11, who live or go to school
in the Suffolk Coastal district were once again be given the
opportunity to represent their district in this superb festival of
sport.
2008 Suffolk Youth Games results
The 2008 games featured competitions between teams from the
seven Suffolk districts in nine sports - athletics,
basketball, girl's football, badminton, cricket, girl's and boy's
hockey, mixed tag rugby, tennis and table tennis. There was
also an athletics competition for young people with
disabilities.
Suffolk Coastal came fifth in the overall team table with
Waveney claiming the title for the fourth year
running. Suffolk Coastal teams achieved second places in
the tennis, boy's hockey and badminton competitions and third
places in the girl's football and the athletics competition for
people with disabilities.
