Suffolk Coastal Sports Awards 2007

Morson International logoThe Suffolk Coastal Sports Awards were launched in 2007 by the Coastal Sports Alliance as a way of recognising local sports people and organisations for their achievements and contribution to sport. Morson International were main sponsors of the 2007 awards.

The awards ceremony took place in February at the Seckford Theatre, Woodbridge School. Ipswich Town Chairman, David Sheepshanks, opened the ceremony in his capacity as chief patron of the Coastal Sports Alliance. Guest of honour was former Olympian, Professor Bill Tancred MBE.

The Felixstowe, Kesgrave & Woodbridge Flyer Sports Personality of the Year
Winners: Alex and Jeremy Hinton (North Pole expedition).
Commended: Alan Krailing / Edd McArdle (sailing), Ashley Reeves (horse riding).

Kings Models Young Sports Personality 2007
Winner: William Meadows (triathlon & cycling).
Commended: Rhodri Harston (golf), Hamish Stone (sailing).

Kingpin Disabled Sports Personality 2007
Winner:
Jamie Truby (sports coach / athletics).
Commended: Emma Greenhouse (cross country).

DC Leisure Club of the Year 2007
Winner:
Woodbridge Rugby Club.
Commended: Woodbridge Town Youth FC, Health Needs Netball Club.

The Suffolk School Sports Partnership Coach of the Year 2007
Winner:
Steve Taylor (Felixstowe Hockey Club).
Commended: Ian Cotton (Deben Swimming Club), Juliet McMurray (Netball Development Co-ordinator for Suffolk).

Easton Farm Park Sporting School 2007
Winner: Woodbridge School.
Commended: Farlingaye High School, Wickham Market Community Primary School.

Greenthumb East Suffolk Volunteer of the Year 2007
Winner: Ralph Dale (Framlingham Lawn Tennis Club).
Commended: Julie Jolliffe (Hollesley Judo Club), Michael Hervey-Murray (East Anglian Sailing Trust).

Mannings Amusement Park Lifetime Achievement Award
Winner:
Michael Lubbock.
Commended: Janet Hambling, Sydney and Christine Vice.
