Key to the grading system:
- Grade 1 - on easy flat good surfaces.
- Grade 2 - mostly on the level but can be muddy in places.
- Grade 3 - generally good surfaces but some moderate slopes and
mud in wet weather.
- Grade 4 - more challenging - may include steeper slopes, rough
ground and mud in wet weather.
Monday 1 December - Felixstowe
Meet at 2.30pm outside the Spa Pavillion for a walk along the prom
and Old Felixstowe, 2 miles, grade 2.
Wednesday 17 December - Felixstowe Christmas
lunch
Meet at 11am outside the Fludyers to walk the
sea front and follow up with Christmas lunch (booking is essential
for lunch), 2 miles, grade 1.
Monday 29 December - Walk off Christmas,
Felixstowe
Meet 10.30am outside the Alex Restaurant for a brisk walk along the
sea front, 2.5 miles, grade 1.
Tuesday 6 January - New Year resolution,
Felixstowe
Meet 2.30pm outside the Leisure Centre, resolve to start the New
Year by walking with us. 2 miles, grade 2.
Wedneday 14 January - Quinton’s Lane
Walk along green paths into open countryside near Felixstowe, meet
at 10.30 at Brackenbury Leisure Centre, distance 2½ miles, grade
2.
Thursady 22 January - River Deben
Walk along the river banks in Winter, meet at 10.30 outside Deben
Pool in Woodbridge, distance 2 miles, grade 2.
Friday 30 January - Spa Gardens
The sea front and Spa gardens in Winter, meet at 2.15 pm outside
the Spa Pavillion, distance 2 miles, grade 1.
Monday 9 February - Felixstowe Ferry
Catch the bus from the Ferry and walk back, meet at 10.50 outside
St Nicholas Church at the Ferry, distance 2½ miles, grade 2.
Tuesday 17 February - New Bridge
Walk over the new bridge across the A14 to open countryside, meet
at 10.30 outside Morrison’s supermarket, distance 2½ miles, grade
2.
Monday 23 February - Fair Trade Walk
Enjoy Old Felixstowe and then finish with a cup of Fair Trade
coffee in the Methodist Church, meet at 10.30 outside Trinity
Methodist Church, Hamilton Road, distance 2 Miles, grade 3.
Thursday 5 March - Cliff and Dip
Explore the cliffs and paths around Old Felixstowe, meet at 10.30
at Brackenbury Leisure Centre, distance 2½ miles, grade 2.
Friday 13 March - Trimley St Mary
Enjoy a country walk with views over the docks, meet at 2.00pm
outside Trimley St Mary Church, distance 2½ miles , grade
2.
Monday 23 March - The Promenade
(reunion)
All walkers past and present are invited to
join us for walks along the promenade (distances to suit all
abilities) or just coffee in the Fludyers, meet at 10.30 outside
the Fludyers, distance up to 2½ miles, Grade 1.
Tuesday 31 March - Waldringfield
An early
Spring walk along the Deben and hinterland, meet at 11.00 in the
car park behind the Maybush Inn, distance 2½ miles, grade 3.
Wednesday 8 April - Languard Point
See the nature reserve at the Southern end of the peninsular, meet
at 2.15 on the Prom opposite Beach Station Road, distance 2½ miles,
grade 3.
