The 2011 Redrow Suffolk Youth Games took place on Sunday 10 July
at Bury St. Edmunds. The games, now in their thirteenth year, were
once again contested by teams from the seven local authority areas
across the county - Babergh, Forest Heath, Ipswich, Mid Suffolk,
Suffolk Coastal, St Edmundsbury and Waveney.
The games represent the largest multi-sport festival in Suffolk
with around 1,000 young people taking part. This year sports
include athletics, badminton, basketball, cycling, hockey, squash,
table tennis, tag rugby, tennis, skateboarding and BMX - as well as
a judo competition.
The Suffolk Youth Games are organised by Suffolk Sport, in
association with local authorities, sports clubs, schools and other
sports partners across Suffolk.
Waveney were once again victors with their 7th successive win.
St Edmundsbury repeated last year's result by taking the runners up
trophy but by just two points from third placed Babergh.
