Our office hours are 8.45am - 5.15pm, Monday to Thursday and 8.45am - 4.45pm on Fridays. Offices are closed on bank holidays.

Please note that the doors to our Melton Hill offices are closed to the public until 9.30am on Wednesday mornings while our Customer Services staff are training. All services, other than Customer Services, can still be reached by calling them direct or emailing them.

Requesting a home visit

We offer a home visit service to assist customers with their claims for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit. This service is available to housebound people who cannot get to our offices in Woodbridge or Felixstowe. We aim to visit within 14 days. To arrange a home visit call us on 01394 444838 or email benefits@suffolkcoastal.gov.uk.

  • Tell us immediately about any changes in your circumstances.
  • Please fill in and return any application form we send you without delay.
  • Tell us immediately if you do not hear from us when you think you should.

Join our customer panel

We currently hold a customer panel meeting every quarter. Its aim is to have an open forum to receive feedback and discuss improvements and changes to the service we currently offer. If you would like to attend these meetings please email benefits@suffolkcoastal.gov.uk or telephone 01394 444466.
