Solo Housing lodging scheme - why not let a room?

Do you have a spare room that you would like to rent out?

Leaflet cover You’d be surprised at the reasons why people become homeless, often through no fault of their own. If you’d like to help someone who needs a room and earn yourself extra tax free income Solo Housing can help you.

Solo is an East Anglian housing charity that helps to find affordable lodgings for single people who are homeless or to prevent them from becoming homeless.

If you have a spare room that you would like to rent out, Solo will visit you and explain what’s involved. It’s not difficult and they will help you every step of the way.

If you decide that you want to join their lodgings scheme they will provide you with a landlord information pack covering the legal and tax implications, health and safety issues, and the support and advice that they can offer.

Once they have registered your details, Solo will look for a suitable lodger for you that matches your profile. They always check with you before they hand out your details and the final responsibility for accepting or rejecting a lodger remains with you.

You'll find more details about the scheme in their leaflet Rent your spare room with us (new window PDF 945KB) or on their website at www.solohousing.org.

To find out more you can call Solo on 0800 652 0155 or email info@solohousing.org.
