Full Council met on Thursday, 24 February and agreed
Suffolk Coastal's budget and Council Tax for 2011/12, it:
- Set a budget for the Council of £13.789
million
- Set a Band D Council Tax for Suffolk Coastal of
£149.40
Our total net spending in 2011/12 is set to fall by £1.890
million from last year’s £15.679 million.
Suffolk Coastal's part of the Council Tax is unchanged at
£149.40 for a Band D home, and the County Council and the Police
have also frozen their charges this year. However, your town or
parish council may have changed their figures so you may still see
a slight alteration in your bills.

In 2011/2012, people who live in Suffolk Coastal will pay £73.7
million in Council Tax. This money goes to the following:
- Suffolk County Council - £56.1 million
(76.1% of the total).
- Suffolk Police Authority - £8.0 million
(10.9% of the total).
- Suffolk Coastal District Council - £7.4
million (10% of the total).
- Town and Parish Councils - £2.2 million
(3.0% of the total).
These authorities also get money from the Government, and from
fees and charges, to help pay for the services they provide.
Suffolk Coastal District Council collects the money on behalf of
all the authorities.
