Suffolk Coastal's rent deposit
guarantee scheme provides single people and couples without
children with the opportunity to move into a home of their
choice and to avoid homelessness.
Under the scheme the Council will provide the landlord with a
guarantee or bond ('a promise to pay') to cover the deposit
required up to the maximum of one month's rent.
The scheme is not suitable for everyone. It is intended for
households who live or work within the Suffolk Coastal area, or who
have a close relative connection to the area. They must also be in
receipt of a welfare benefit or on a low income.
A similiar scheme called
Coastal Lettings Plus is
provided for families.
