Affordable homes for single people
Solo Housing is a housing charity that helps to find affordable
lodgings for single people who are homeless or to prevent them from
becoming homeless.
Solo work with the local councils in the Suffolk Coastal,
Waveney, Breckland and South Norfolk areas. Their lodgings
scheme provides affordable accommodation for people who do not need
a support service once they have been housed. Typically, many of
those who are placed in lodgings are people who have been asked to
leave the family home, who have been sleeping rough or sofa-surfing
with friends.
You can be referred to Solo by us or you can contact them
yourself. They will then interview you where it is convenient and
match your requirements to accommodation that they have on their
register. Everyone is different and they do their best to meet the
needs of both potential lodger and landlord.
Solo's job is usually finished once someone has been
successfully placed, but they can be contacted for further advice
and assistance by either landlord or lodger on an occasional
basis.
You'll find more details about the scheme on Solo
Housing's website at www.solohousing.org.
