Pest control services are carried out by the Council's partner
company, Suffolk Coastal Services Ltd (SCS). SCS offers pest
control services to both households and businesses.
Please note that the charges for some of these services will
increase from 1 April 2008.
The charges for domestic premises are:
- Rats and mice inside the home - £30 for the
first two visits, subsequent visits £20 each.
- Wasps - £60 plus £10 for each additional nest
treated at the same site at the same time.
- Hornets - £60 plus £10 for each additional
nest treated at the same site at the same time.
- Bees - these are only treatable in certain
circumstances and the charge is £60.
- Bed bugs, fleas, flies or other
insects inside the home - £99 for first treatment
visit, £55 for each subsequent treatment visit.
- Cockroaches - £99 for two treatment visits 21
days apart, then £55 for each additional treatment visit.
- Garden ants (lasius niger) in garden or in
house - £30 for treatment of up to three nests, then £5 for each
additional nest or bait point used.
- Moles - from £50 usually after visit to assess
and estimate given.
- Squirrels in loft space or inside house only -
£75.
- Rabbits - price after visit to assess and
estimate given.
These prices all include a non-refundable call-out charge of
£35.
SCS charge £30 to identify what type of insect infestation you
have - this is £30 for each species of insect indentified but is
fully refundable if you then book a treatment service to deal with
the pest. Prices for other types of insect pests (other than those
listed above) will depend on the number and size of rooms to be
treated. Contact SCS for details.
For all domestic services, payment must be made prior to
the treatment being carried out.
The charges for commercial premises
are:
Rats and mice in commercial premises - £55 per
visit to treat up to four points in up to two rooms. Quotations for
more extensive treatments are available on request.
