Disposing of items in usable condition
Before disposing of bulky household items such as furniture and
household appliances that are in usable condition, consider whether
you could offer them to friends or family, or to a charity
shop.
Alternatively, why not
try Freecycle to recycle your unwanted items? Freecycle
is a non-profit movement that provides an online network for
matching people who have things they want to get rid of with
people who can use them. For more information follow the links

There are also two community-run furniture projects locally,
which are charitable organisations that arrange for the reuse of
unwanted furniture and other household items:

Household waste recycling centres
You can also dispose of your bulky household items free of
charge by taking them to the
household waste recycling centres (new
window) at Felixstowe, Foxhall or Leiston:
- Felixstowe - Carr Road (off the end of
Langer Road)
- Foxhall - 1 mile west of A12, 1 mile before
Speedway Stadium
- Leiston - Lovers Lane (road to Sizewell Power
Station)
Opening times are:
1 November to 31 January - 8am until 4pm
1 February to 31 March - 8am until 5pm
1 April to 30 September - 8am until 6pm
1
October to 31 October - 8am until
5pm
Bulky items collection service
Suffolk Coastal Services can take bulky items away for you.
If you would like to use this service, please

- Three piece suites
- Wardrobes

Heavier items such as cast iron baths, central heating boilers,
garage doors, oil tanks, storage heaters or an assortment of
household clearance items or garden waste can all be quoted for
