This popular map and guide pack was fully revised and updated in
Autumn 2009. Since it was first devised back in 1994 this route has
been a firm favourite with cycle tourists in Suffolk.
The new edition features forest maps, including details of new
attractions at Rendlesham forest (new window), so the pack is
equally useful to families looking for a day out with bikes on
traffic-free routes. The use of the Ordnance Survey map base makes
this one of the best quality cycle route maps available and great
value at just £4.99.
The Suffolk Coastal Cycle Route is based on a circular signed
route on quiet roads, linking coastal villages between
Felixstowe and Dunwich and then looping inland
via the market towns of Framlingham and
Woodbridge.
The full route is 88 miles, ideal for weekend tours, but there
are also many opportunities for detours and short cuts to make day
rides on sections on the route, including off-road tracks in three
forests. Much of the route lies within the
Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding
Natural Beauty (new window).
The pack includes 2 maps for the main signed route based on
Ordnance Survey Landranger series and 3 forest maps based on the
Explorer series. There is also a detailed commentary on the route,
providing useful guidance and information about places of interest
along the way and an information guide, including accommodation
listing and campsites.
The pack is available from our
Tourist
Information Centres or by post from the
Suffolk Coast and Heaths Unit (new window) at
