Licensing Act 2003 - having your say in licensing decisions

A key feature of the Licensing Act 2003 is to allow local communities a say in licensing decisions that affect them, not only when someone applies for a licence to carry out certain activities (such as selling alcohol or providing live music) but at any time afterwards if those activities cause problems once a licence has been granted.

Further information is available from the Home Office on how to have your say in licensing decisions (new window).

You can also read the Licensing Team’s guidance on:

If you live or work near a licensed premises that is causing a problem, please refer to the advice given in the Licensing Team’s complaints procedure

Details of the opening hours and permitted activities of licensed premises can be found on Suffolk Coastal's public register of premises licences (new window).
